Limited release for Jackson film

A Michael Jackson film built around rehearsal footage shot before his death will be released in a limited two-week run worldwide, Sony Pictures has said.

The distributor added it had brought forward the release date of This Is It by two days, anticipating huge demand.

The film, directed by Kenny Ortega - the choreographer of Jackson's planned shows at London's O2 arena - offers a behind-the-scenes look at preparations.

This Is It will be released in cinemas on 28 October.

"This film is Michael's gift to his fans," Ortega said.

It would give them a "very private, exclusive look" into the world of a "creative genius", he added.

"For the first time ever, fans will see Michael as they have never seen him before, this great artist at work.

"It is raw, emotional, moving and powerful footage that captures his interactions with the This Is It collaborators that he had personally assembled for this once-in-a-lifetime project."

Now, a talent hunt show on Michael Jackson

Riding on the Michael Jackson mania, BBC is reportedly planning to start a talent hunt show to find out a

dancer, who can master the
dance moves of the pop icon including his signature moonwalk.

And to judge the participants on the show 'Move Like Jacko', BBC is trying to rope in the members of Jackson's family, possibly Jermaine, or LaToya, Sun online reported.

The channel will start a national search for Britain's best moonwalker and body-popper later this year and the contestants will be judged by a panel of industry experts.

"People are so passionate about Michael it makes sense to build a talent show devoted to him and his incredible performances. And given that his family played such a huge part in his life, it makes sense for one of them to be a judge. Jermaine, Janet or LaToya would be brilliant," source said.

The show will be for the participants from all age group including women. The hopefuls will not be required to sing.

"We want to see them perfecting his dance moves, which let's face it were highly technical and not easy. It won't just be about the moonwalk, but if you can't do the moonwalk you're probably not going to be that much of a Jacko devotee," the source added.

A BBC spokesperson has confirmed the news, saying, "We are currently in advanced discussions about commissioning a new entertainment show, which will seek to find Britain's most talented dancer, who can move like the legendary Michael Jackson."
