KABUL - A suicide car bomb attacked a NATO convoy Tuesday on the outskirts of Kabul, killing at least seven civilians and wounding more than 50 people, officials said. Two Afghans working for the United Nations were among the dead.
A Taliban spokesman claimed responsibility for the attack, which occurred two days before national elections in which Afghans are to select a new president.
Zabiullah Mujahid told The Associated Press that the bomber was targeting a foreign military convoy. He alleged that foreign forces opened fire after the blast.
